Letters to the editor: Use optometry resources; In need of VT charts

    Use optometry resources, please

I am disappointed that Optometry Times would choose to suggest its readers use a pediatric “vision” check list from Bascom Palmer (“Share this pediatric vision checklist with your patients,” News Flash August 9, 2014) and not one from the American Optometric Association (AOA) (such as the convergence insufficiency checklist) or from College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) or Optometric Extension Program (OEP).

    Please use optometric-based checklists.

    In need of VT charts

Where can I purchase the VT Hart charts mentioned in Dr. Marc Taub’s article (“Vision therapy: A top 10 must-have list,” August 2014)? I have not been able to find the small ones used for near.

    Marc Taub replies:

The Hart charts can be generated from a computer program called Vision Builder distributed by OEP. You can make different sorts of charts with different numbers of columns and rows.

You can get the program at www.oepf.org.
